Former Real Housewives of Orange County stars Alexis and Jim Bellino have now finalized their divorce, according to Page Six. In a superior court docket obtained by Page Six, a default or uncontested declaration was filed in their case.
After 13 years of marriage, the former couple announced their separation in June. Per the terms of their divorce, Alexis and Jim will retain 50/50 custody of their three children when their divorce is finalized.
The conditions of the divorce signify that Alexis and Jim came to an amicable decision to part ways after their separation. Evidently, the couple wants the public to understand that their divorce was resolved because of a mutual respect for each other. In a lengthy statement, the former announced their divorce to the public.
“It is with heavy hearts that we inform the public of our mutual decision to end our marriage — but it’s important to us that you know we made this choice together, with love, and as the best decision for our children’s future. We hold one another in the highest regards as spouses, and especially as parents. We have agreed on 50/50 custody of the children, and we ask that you respect our privacy by not theorizing about the reasons for our divorce.”
“In recent days and weeks, there has been a lot of negative discussion about our marriage and why it is ending. Outside of the news of our decision to part ways, there is nothing provocative, alluring, or sordid about the dissolution of our marriage. Quite to the contrary, we strongly support each other just as we have since the beginning of our relationship. Our marriage was a good one, but we were never perfect people or spouses —no one is, and in this respect, we were a lot like millions of other married people. And, just like millions of other married people, we simply grew apart overtimes — there is no ill will or bad blood between us — and maybe that’s why absurd rumors about our marriage and future together began when we filed for divorce.”
This statement was released because of the formers couple’s discomfort with the growing rumors surrounding their divorce. It appears that the divorce had no effect on the former reality stars’ finances. Earlier this month, Alexis purchased a $1.3 million dollar mansion after buying a $4 million home before she separated with her former husband.
Meanwhile, Jim is struggling with massive lawsuits that concern his previous business deals and false claims aimed at him and his family. Not only is he still battling a lawsuit from a former business partner demanding $350,000, he is also suing Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador for making illegitimate claims about his trampoline business and for claiming that his divorce from Alexis is fraudulent.
It appears now that Jim and Alexis have smoothly parted ways and will now have to focus on nurturing their family, even amidst the negative controversy and legal issues that are seemingly surrounding the former pair.
